Not much movement in this forum so i might miss your replies! I am going to the Hilton Nuweiba on 10 Jul 03. Has anyone been there? If not can you reccomend any good snorkelling sites near it. I think the hotel has its own dive centre but thats all i know!

Regards

Novice diver!

Sharam EL-Shikh probably is a good spot.
Hope you enjoy the red sea. If you come inland to Jordan, you must visit the STUINNING Petra.

Just got back from the Hyatt Regency at Taba Heights and got some diving in whilst there.

Did not see any regular sharks at all, and the instructors said they were quite a rare site. However there was a 6m Whale shark following some of the dive boats the first week I was there and some people were lucky enough to get in the water with it.

Dolphins are about as we had a pod of four visit the hotel reef at the Hyatt on a regular basis. Saw lots of Eagle rays, Armoured Sting Rays etc, and the whole area is crawling with Turtles. Thought the diving was pretty good with a lot of the reefs relatively untouched. Visited one that hadn't been dived for 8 months and spent most of the time sabotaging illegal fish pots and freeing the contents.
The snorkeling around the hotels is excellent, you should have a great time
